Jesus Youth prayer meeting was conducted at Maris Stella college Vijayawada , AP on the 9th of dec’ 06.

This was attended by 120 students in the college hostel premises. The program started at 1:00 pm with Action songs and then Fr. Pasala Thomas officially started the program with prayers and greetings. This was followed by a skit, more action songs and Praise and Worship.

Dr. Francis from Tenali a former Hindu and now a missionary presented the “Word of GOD” and then he distributed Vachanosthavan , POTA Retreat Center Magazine as a free gift to every participant.

After a short tea break there was a session on JY and a video presentation. Games were organized after this and the essence of Team building was stressed upon.

Later there was Workshops conducted and most of them took up a personal commitment to read the Bible regularly and take up the sacraments more seriously.

Later the students and the warden of Stella college proposed the Vote of thanks and everyone went for dinner.

The day ended with Adoration for one hour where everyone participated whole heartedly and then retired to bed at 10:00 pm

Starting of Jesus Youth Moment stood as “Mile Stone” in the life of
“Maris Stella College”

Jesus youth (JY) is a International Catholic Youth Moment with a wide spread in 17 countries for which “Mr. Manoj Sunny” from India as its International Coordinator. The strength of the movement is its special focus on Christ centered life, revolving around the 6 pillars of Jesus youth i.e., Personal prayer, Word of God, Sacramental Life, (Daily Mass, Confession), Fellowship, Evangelization and Option for the Poor.

Jesus Youth program was started in our hostel from August-2005 with the arrival of Sanju Bhaskar who is a Jesus Youth full timer for Vijayawada Diocease. The Journey of Jesus Youth started in our hostel with a prayer group of 11 members which grown as a tree of 72 members today. We started up with a whole night adoration which included skits and action songs. We arranged a Welcome program in order to make aware of the Jesus Youth in the hostel and gae a warm welcome to those students who were interested to join us. The coming of “Angels Day” program made the members of the JY prayer group to pray for each other, share love and build on effective relation among them.

A seminar was conducted on 4th of Decemeber known as “PRO-LIFE” which means “Promoting Life”. Dr. Jija , Dr. Dona and Simi hohn have come from Kerala on behalf of JY Pro-Life Ministry to address the students.

“Cultural Exchange” a memorable program of Jesus youth took place in kerala, for which 7 of our hostilities have participated. A long schedule of 20 days that is from 10th December to 1st January. The main motto of this program is to have a personal experience with Jesus and to lead a spiritual life, which that helping others to do the same.

Presence of “Jesus Youth” made a difference in our hostel through their Prayer life, Discipline, Team work and dynamics for youth and academic caliber.

Celebrate Life - Mom I want to LIVE

Before I formed you in the womb I knew you (Jermiah 1:5)

4th Dec ’05 was a new sunrise in the lives of Stella Hostelities, the day we were waiting for a long time. It was the day set apart for PRO-Life ----- Promoting Life. Every human being in the womb of the the mother, he/she has the potentitality to grow into a full-fledged human being. The life of every unborn child in mother’s womb is very precious before God & has to be protected in every possible way. ABORTION is one of the great crimes that are widely practiced in our society today. Unfortunately, many shut their eyes towards the responsibility of protecting the innocent lives, & even become an instrument for this Crime. To create awareness in the minds of the Youth, we have opted for this one-day seminar on PRO-LIFE….. Dr. Jija & Dr. Dona on behalf of Jesus Youth Movement came from Kerala enlightened the minds of students with their presentation through Audio – Visuals, Skits , Talks & Panel sharing. We started with Holy Mass & ended the seminar with the Adoration . They highlighted the 4 dangerous methods of ABORTION i,e.,

Ø SUCTION METHOD.
Ø D & C (Dilation & Curettage) METHOD.
Ø SALINE METHOD
Ø CAESARIAN METHOD

They also quoted the statement of the church against ABORTION & CONTRACEPTIVES. It is said that 780 mothers die for every 1 lakh cases of ABORTION. One hard truth is that 1.5 lakh unborn babies are killed each day all over the world. In India it is 35,000 with an average of 500 – 1000 (in the cities per day) ABORTIONS are being done daily. There are even some mental & Physical repercussions.

“And today, crucified Jesus, Showing the babies thrown into the waste bucket, tells us : “Here is the man”.

Today it is a big question in front of everyone that what I can do to save the lifes of the unborn babies. We the Stella Hostilities take up the challenge that we will do all possible supports to Promote Life. We will pray for the babies to be born, Create Awareness in others & Render help to this “PRO – LIFE” Ministry.

“May Lord Jesus strengthen our minds, so that we may do our best for he unborn babies.”
